Mayo Clinic Health System highlights suicide prevention efforts

September was Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, fostering hope, and promoting mental health resources across our communities. Mayo Clinic Health System actively participated in several impactful events throughout the region, including the Be the Light Run/Walk in Tomah, WI, the Hope 4 U Suicide & Mental Health Awareness Walk in Arcadia, WI, the Mini Donut Half Marathon in La Crosse, WI, and the Suicide Prevention Summit and Awareness Event in La Crosse, WI.

At each event, Mayo Clinic Health System provided resource booths staffed by team members from behavioral health, social work, and family medicine. The booths offered educational materials, giveaways, and direct connections to mental health services. These efforts reflect Mayo Clinic Health System’s commitment to addressing mental health as a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) priority, ensuring that individuals and families have access to the support they need.
